My next term will be centered around four pillars

As we enter the Section 6 openers for UPA27, we have an opportunity to shape the future of our profession through strong preparation, informed strategy, and unwavering advocacy. I am prepared to help lead that effort by addressing current contractual issues, identifying potential challenges before they become bargaining obstacles, and confronting industry threats such as reduced crew operations. Protecting our profession requires anticipating change, not simply reacting to it.

The aviation industry is evolving rapidly, with advances in technology, changing business priorities, and increasing pressure to reduce costs. These challenges make it more important than ever to defend the safety standards, professionalism, and quality-of-life protections that define our careers. Success at the bargaining table begins long before negotiations start, requiring thorough preparation, careful analysis, and a clear understanding of the issues that matter most to our pilots.

My commitment is to be proactive, prepared, and focused on protecting both our contract and our profession. By staying ahead of emerging issues, working collaboratively to develop practical solutions, and advocating from a position of knowledge and experience, we can strengthen our bargaining position, preserve what we've earned, and build a stronger future for every pilot we represent.

Protect our Profession

Communication is one of the most important responsibilities of elected leadership, and it shouldn't begin or end with an election. Our members deserve consistent, transparent communication that keeps them informed, engaged, and confident that their voices are being heard.

I will continue providing regular updates that explain not only what decisions are being made, but also the reasoning behind them. Understanding the "why" is just as important as knowing the outcome, and informed members are empowered members.

I am committed to ensuring every communication is timely, accurate, and straightforward. That means delivering information as quickly as possible, verifying the facts before they're shared, and avoiding unnecessary speculation or filler. When questions arise, you deserve clear answers and not rumors, confusion, or vague statements.

Communication should be a two-way conversation, not a one-way announcement. I will remain accessible, listen to your concerns, and encourage constructive feedback so your perspective is reflected in the work of our Council. My commitment is simple: keep you informed, be transparent about the challenges we face, and always communicate with honesty, respect, and accountability.

Strengthen Member Communication

Every dollar entrusted to ALPA belongs to the members, and every dollar should be managed with that responsibility in mind. Sound financial stewardship requires disciplined budgeting, transparency, and accountability in every decision we make.

Whether it's our Council dues account, the Flower Fund, or the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Fund, I am committed to ensuring these resources are managed responsibly and remain financially sustainable for the long term. That means careful oversight, appropriate spending, and regular accountability to the membership.

Our members deserve to see real value from their dues. I will work to ensure that every expenditure serves a clear purpose, supports our pilots, and strengthens our Council. By protecting our financial resources today, we can continue investing in the programs, services, and representation that benefit our members tomorrow.

Financial Stewardship

A strong union isn't built for just one contract or one election but by investing in the people who will lead it in the years ahead. The long-term success of our Council depends on developing the next generation of volunteers, committee members, and elected representatives who are prepared to advocate for our pilots with knowledge, integrity, and dedication.

I am committed to creating more opportunities for members to get involved in ALPA, whether by serving on a committee, volunteering for a project, or stepping into a leadership role. Every pilot brings unique experience and perspectives that can strengthen our union, and we should actively encourage members to contribute in meaningful ways.

By mentoring new volunteers, sharing institutional knowledge, and fostering an environment where members feel welcomed and supported, we can build a deeper bench of engaged leaders. Investing in future leadership ensures our Council remains strong, resilient, and prepared to protect our profession for generations to come.
